Help with PrintWisp and the PrintWisp app for Shopify: how to reach us, where the docs are, and answers to the questions we hear most.
Need help?
- Using the Shopify app? Include your
.myshopify.comaddress. - About an order? Include the order number.
- Building an integration? Start with the API docs.
1. Contact support
Email support@printwisp.com and tell us:
- your PrintWisp organisation or store name, and for Shopify your store address (
your-store.myshopify.com); - what you were doing, what you expected and what happened instead;
- the order number or product code, if it is about an order or a product;
- a screenshot, if you can.
We reply by email on Australian business days (Melbourne time). Priority support is part of the Professional and Business plans. Questions before you sign up, demos and anything else: hello@printwisp.com.
2. Help and documentation
- Your PrintWisp portal. Each store has a setup checklist and its own setup instructions; log in to see them.
- Developers. The API docs cover keys, the designer embed, sessions, orders, print files and webhooks, with a quickstart.
- Plans and fees. See Pricing.
3. Shopify: installing the app
- Install PrintWisp from the Shopify App Store, then open it from your Shopify admin, under Apps.
- Press Connect to PrintWisp, sign in to PrintWisp in the window that opens, and approve your shop.
- Choose a plan on the app's Plan page. Every plan starts with a 30-day free trial.
- On Add products, pick the PrintWisp products to add. Each becomes a Shopify product with one variant per size. Prices and sizes come from PrintWisp, so change them there and press Update from PrintWisp. PrintWisp prices are in Australian dollars, so your Shopify store needs to sell in AUD for now.
- Turn on the Personalise button (below), then place a test order.
The app home shows these steps as a checklist, with what is done and what is next.
4. Shopify: the Personalise button and Start from a design
Shoppers design their print from a Personalise button on the product page. It is an app block in your theme, so you add it once:
- In the app home, press Add the Personalise button. Your theme editor opens on a product page with the block being added. Check where it sits (under the price and size options works best) and press Save.
- Or by hand: Online Store → Themes → Customize, pick a product template, Add block → Apps → PrintWisp Personalise, then Save.
On PrintWisp products the block hides your theme's own Add to cart button, so every order arrives with a design. Add the block once per product template; two copies show two buttons.
Start from a design is a second, optional block (Add block → Apps → Start from a design). It shows the ready-made designs you offer for that product, so a shopper can begin from one instead of a blank page. It stays hidden on products with no designs.
Button not showing? Check the product was added from PrintWisp (it carries the printwisp tag), the block is on the template that product uses, and the theme was saved.
5. Shopify: orders and print files
When a Shopify order with a PrintWisp design is paid, PrintWisp makes a print-ready PDF for each personalised item: bleed, crop marks and full-resolution photos.
- The order's page in your Shopify admin has a PrintWisp print files block with the files.
- The order and its files are also in your PrintWisp portal, under Orders.
- You, or the print business you work with, print and ship the order. PrintWisp provides the designer and the files; it does not print.
Shopify test orders get print files too, and are never charged a fee. The app reads paid orders but keeps only what the print file needs (the order number and, for each personalised item, its design, size, quantity and price), never the shopper's name, email, phone or address.
6. Shopify: billing
- Your plan is billed through Shopify, on your Shopify bill. We never see your payment details.
- Each plan has a monthly price plus a share of your designer sales on real paid orders, worked out in AUD and charged in US dollars at the day's rate. The Plan page shows the plans, your fees this cycle and your limit.
- Every plan has a 30-day free trial. Development stores are never billed.
- Change or cancel your plan at any time on the app's Plan page. Orders already placed keep their print files.
7. Shopify: uninstalling and your data
To uninstall, go to Settings → Apps in your Shopify admin, open the menu beside PrintWisp and choose Uninstall. Then:
- Shopify ends the app's plan, so no further charges are made.
- The app's blocks stop showing on your store, and your theme's own Add to cart button comes back.
- Products the app added stay in your Shopify store as ordinary products; delete them in Shopify if you no longer want them.
- The app removes its sign-in to your shop straight away, and 48 hours later deletes everything it keeps for your store: its connection, keys and order references.
- Your PrintWisp account, with its products, orders and print files, is separate and stays until you close it. To close it or have your information deleted, email support@printwisp.com.
Shopify passes on shoppers' requests to see or delete their information, and the app answers them. How PrintWisp handles personal information is in our Privacy Policy.
8. Privacy and terms
- Privacy Policy: what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. Privacy requests: privacy@printwisp.com.
